Research/ Development Contracts

If you intend to carry out research and/or development projects in cooperation with third parties, before the start of the joint project a contract should establish which party has to contribute to the project in which way in which period of time, how the costs are divided, how potential inventions are dealt with and which regulations apply if the project fails.

It is of extreme importance to establish the rights and responsibilities of the cooperating partners regarding a joint project clearly in order to avoid disagreements and conflicts, sometimes based on misunderstandings which could have been avoided.

Such research and development contracts are prepared by us after a personal conversation and discussion of “what if” questions, such that both parties can put an end to a project by mutual agreement in case of failing.
